Wild Women, Wild Voices — Writing from Your Authentic Wildness, was released a year ago and what a wild year this has been.
From receiving the first copy from Georgia Hughes, my editor at New World Library,
to the first public event at Warwick’s Books in La Jolla,
to the book party at Liberty Station
… when my daughter, Amy, surprised me with a visit,
and my friends gathered round to celebrate and to write with me.
I had a beautiful road trip north, driving up the coast to Bloomsbury Books in Ashland, OR, then Annie Bloom’s Books in Portland, and Third Space in Seattle.
No sooner was I home and it was time for another journey up the coast, this time to Book Passage in the Bay Area. Then I flew to the East Coast for a Wild Women writing group in Vero Beach, Fl, and traveled up to Connecticut to give the keynote at the annual Summer Conference of the International Women’s Writing Guild.
Back in home territory, we had a great day of writing at a Wild Women writing retreat at the J & J Ranch in San Diego’s beautiful back country.
And by now, I need a holiday, so I took one. (To Paris and Barcelona!)
Soon as I returned, it was time for another trip up the coast for a second gathering of the Wild Women at Book Passage, where we wrote together for a day and a half.
The next week I flew down to Mexico for a writing retreat at the beach with a pack of gorgeous wild women from Ajijic, Jalisco.
Back home for the holidays, and in February, my book and I are honored to be included in the Local Author’s Event at our beautiful Central Library.
In January I launched the first Wild Women, Wild Voices writing group to work through the entire book together. It was twelve weeks of beautiful; we just finished last week. (I’m looking forward to offering the workshop online later in the year.)
And the first year comes to a joyous end with the news that Wild Women, Wild Voices will be published in French. Mais, oui— Femmes Sauvages, Voix Sauvage.

What a fabulous Wild Woman you are, and what a fabulous year you have had. I wonder at all your untamed, never-ending spirit and energy! I thank the power above for the day I first discovered your books and for getting to know you. Who else could give an old woman a chance to howl!
