More info & Registration
We are like the magpie that hoards shiny objects for its nest; we accumulate things. We are collectors, hunters and gatherers, keepers of stuff. Within every object, item, article, icon and thing in our attics and basements and storage units, and in every collectibles shop and antique store is the genesis of a story. The writer’s work: finding and revealing the story.
This workshop will include techniques for looking closely, listening deeply, examining for scars and wounds and other telltale signs, and the detective work of interview, investigation and research and intuition.
We’ll work from items we bring to the workshop and from prompts and props to generate new material.
For fiction and nonfiction writers including those writing memoir or personal narrative.
