Outlaw voices are those that break the rules. Not because they like the sound rules make as they shatter, but because rules can hold you back and renegade writers don’t like to be held back. Not with all that blank space to fill and all those stories beating at the walls. An outlaw voice never explains, never apologizes and never preaches. An outlaw voice never speaks in whispers except for the purpose of seduction or mystery, or maybe both.

Renegade writers trespass barefooted in no-man’s land. They believe in the dark and don’t shirk shadows. Not that they are fearless, but they go forth in spite of fear. The renegade writer has made peace with loneliness; solitude is a welcome companion. Still he or she appreciates the company of like-minded souls and so for this writing marathon, we’ll gather a gang of renegade writers around the tables at Inspirations Gallery where we’ll be surrounded by art that will inspire and evoke. We’ll spend the day writing from our wild imaginings and untamed tongues. Prompts and exercises will encourage writing outside the known rules, exploring what could be dangerous territory, inviting mystery and seduction. Outlaw voices are welcomed and encouraged.

Writers of all levels and genres are invited to this free-for-all writing day of writing in classic marathon style.
