We can never write all our family stories; there are simply too many. As Flannery O’Connor said, “If you survived childhood, you have enough material for a lifetime.” The stories that find their way into the pages of our notebooks may not be the ones we expected or intended to write, but they are the stories that want to be told. Come to this retreat and write your family stories.

One in a series of  Creative Writing Retreats & Workshops which are a time for exploration and personal expression in community with other like-spirited writers. Join us for a half-day (10 am – 3 pm) when we retreat from the outside world to devote ourselves to our writing. We’ll respond to themed prompts, props, and the inspiring words of others to generate new material in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. No experience is necessary; all levels of writers and all genres of expression are invited to bring their work-in-progress, their notebooks or journals, or simply their imaginations for a day of creative work.
