Plot. Character. Point of view. Setting. Dialogue. Tension. Conflict. Flashback. Foreshadow. You know all these terms have something to do with writing fiction, but what do they all mean how do you use them to make a story? If you’re a beginning writer and you’re looking for a class where you can get answers to all your questions, this might be the one for you.

We’ll start with the basics and create stories from scratch. We’ll invite characters in and discover what they have to say. We’ll noodle around with descriptions and settings and learn how to create tension (and why stories need them). With lots of in-class exercises and take home assignments, we’ll move from beginnings to working draft in six weeks. And we’ll have a good time doing it.

No experience necessary, just a desire to write and your notebook and pen.
