Life will go on as long as there is someone to sing, to dance, to tell stories and to listen. – Chief Oren Lyons

Stories told through the ages are passed down and down until they are held in our very bones—archetypal tales of heroes and fools, gods and warriors, wise women, and innocent lovers. Every culture has its myths and legends, every generation its cautionary tales, hero’s journeys, and sacred stories of creation, redemption, and transcendence. And each individual has his or her own personal mythology and stories that matter. Just as we need stories to connect us as human beings in this world together, we need myths and legends for our species to survive. We’ll come together in this retreat to tell our stories, create our own myths and enter into the mystery of “Once upon a time…”

The Saturday Series Writing Retreats & Workshops are a time for creative explorations and personal expression in community with other like-spirited writers. Once each month throughout the year we’ll come together for a day of writing in the warm and creative environment of a working artist’s studio. Writers of all levels and experience are invited.
