Too bad there’s not an idea tree where we writers could go with our ladder and bucket and pluck the ripest and juiciest for our story cobbler. But even if ideas were as abundant as apples in September, how would we know which apples to pick and how to cook them up into something original and delicious?

In this workshop, we’ll examine where to find ideas, how to test the worth of an idea (will it hold up under the long process of story-making?) and different methods to develop an abstract idea into the concrete container of a story, either fiction or nonfiction.
