Finding the W Spot

Sat. Mar. 5, 2011

The Writing Pad

Sometimes a story, poem, or essay can be clever and funny or move from plot point to plot point without having any substance. In this class, seasoned teacher, Judy Reeves, will show you how to figure out the “W spot” of your piece (e.g., what you are trying to say and why anyone should care enough to read it)!  Judy will help you dig deep and create profound descriptions and characters that are guaranteed to enthrall your readers.  You can bring a work-in-progress or create a new story or essay from Judy’s fun, inspiring in-class exercises.

The Writing Pad is a very cool venue in the warehouse district of downtown LA, a loft where writers gather for warm, friendly, nurturing classes and workshops. The Writing Pad Director Marilyn Friedman, makes sure everyone is well-fed too, with gourmet treats that are a part of every event. You can take classes online at The Writing Pad, too. (Sorry no virtual gourmet treats.) To find out more: The Writing Pad
