You thought nobody noticed
This is what you need for the journey
Write about sleeping
<
How to get started writing? Write.
Write about the best of intentions
Write about a time you wanted to leave but couldn't
You're waiting...
Write about taking risks

Everyone is Talented, Original, and Has Something Important to Say
|

One of my most popular workshops is “Finding Our voices, Telling Our Stories.” The catalogue description begins, “Within each human being dwells an innate sense of storytelling and each of us has a unique voice with which to tell our stories.” I’m certain that what makes this course so popular is that this first line resonates with people, who recognize that they have stories to tell - oh, do they have stories! - but they’ve yet to discover the voice with which to tell them, or found a way to express that voice.
Often all people need is someone to encourage them, someone who will show them how to get what’s inside out. Try this. Try this. Try this. I’ve seen folks so full of what they want to say they can hardly sit still and others who are so shy and introverted they believe their stories aren’t important. “Who wants to hear about that?” they ask. “I do,” I tell them. Still others may not think they have anything at all to say.
One of the most fulfilling ways a writer can give back to the community is by volunteering his time and sharing his experience with others, either one to one or within a group. Encouraging others to tell their stories through writing, and supporting them in finding and expressing their voice can be as healing for the writer as it is for those being helped. It’s good for the planet, too.
